  • 7/2 - 7/28: Fire alarm testing

*Other internal onsite work will occur during this same period, associated with these activities.

Potential Impacts:

  • Noise from the following activities:

    • Construction vehicles, including back-up alarms;

    • Fire alarms due to inspections with the City Fire Marshal;

    • Crane alarm when carrying a load; and

    • Nail guns, screw guns, bolting, and associated air compressors.

Relevant regulatory and project-specific control measures:

  • All work will be done in compliance with health and safety requirements as mandated by Cal/OSHA, the South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD), DTSC, and all other pertinent health and safety rules governing work activities to be conducted at the site.

  • The installed construction fencing includes sound blankets to help reduce construction noise levels off-site. where possible.

  • Active air monitoring was in place during grading activities to detect any potential unsafe air with contingency plans to address any issues that arise.

  • Active dust suppression measures were implemented during soil grading activities.

  • A comprehensive geophysical survey was conducted in segments across the site to screen for any potential additional subsurface objects prior to initiation of excavation activities.

  • No additional hauling of contaminated soil is anticipated. All contaminated soil has been removed from the site.

    Air Monitoring

Air monitoring procedures were in place to maintain air quality thresholds during remediation and soil moving activities at the Site. Specific remedial actions are specified (such as enhanced vapor abatement or excavation shut-down) if certain conditions occurred, such as elevated wind speed. For data from the air monitoring period, please go to DTSC’s public database at https://www.envirostor.dtsc.ca.gov/public/profile_report.asp?global_id=60003112
